United Way Day of Caring

Hundreds of volunteers make a difference during the annual United Way Day of Caring event. The event, which takes place on one day, has grown to become a year-round activity. Many local companies have embraced the concept and regularly gather several volunteer groups together to visit nonprofit organizations and lend a hand.

Day of Caring is a great opportunity for team-building and allows volunteers to make a hands-on impact in the community. Volunteers and donors spend a day in a United Way agency meeting their needs by completing projects they haven’t had the time, money or staff to address. The]is annual one day event is kicked off early by fueling the volunteers with breakfast! From there, everyone goes to their respective job sites. Agencies take on the responsibility of seeing their guests stay gassed up by providing lunch. Over the past years, nearly 5,000 volunteers have participated in United Way's Day of Caring.

OUR 15TH DAY OF CARING IS SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY, APRIL 23RD 2010
