Washington County Dental and Vision Care Program
Limited dental and vision care services are available through the Washington County Dental and Vision Care Program for the residents of Washington County meeting the specified requirements. All services must be approved by the Washington County Dental Care Committee before services are rendered.
DENTAL PROGRAM
The Washington County Dental Program will cover up to $500 per year per patient based on the budget. Dental services are any diagnostic, preventive, or corrective procedures administered by or under the direct supervision of an approved dentist.
PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY
The eligibility of each applicant will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Additional family members in need of dental services must apply separately.
The eligibility of each applicant will be reassessed every 3 months for dental care.
Applicants must have a permanent residence established in Washington County for at least six months prior to applying for dental care services.
Applicant must be a) a full time student during school year in the Washington County Public School System, if of school age, not to exceed the age of 19 or b) a full time resident in ECI Group home or c) a full time resident of a Washington County Infirmary Health and Nursing Home.
The family of the applicant must meet the income standards of the Basis of Issuance to determine food stamp coupon allotment.
The applicant must be eligible for dental assistance for the date the service is provided. Services cannot be paid under the Washington County Dental Program if they are become eligible.
Individuals previously eligible for Medicaid will have to be ineligible for Medicaid for a period of at least six months prior to application for services before being considered for the program. Clients who have Medicaid will be considered if Medicaid does not cover the necessary service.
Individuals should not have dental care insurance from any other sources.
VISION PROGRAM
The Washington County Vision Program will cover up to $300 per year for youth up to the age of 19 years old, and up to $350 per year for adults based on the budget. The service must be a benefit covered by the program, determined medically necessary by the Washington County Vision Care program and performed by an approved provider of the services. The Vision Care program will provide one (1) pair of glasses per year per patient.

The legal guardian of the applicant seeking assistance for the dental care or vision care should complete an application prior to the services, except in an emergency situation. If applicant is awarded eligibility, he/she will receive an award notice that includes the effective dates of coverage.
